Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture leg. They also feature carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it detects the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very good scores in our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our first option. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.
It's still a good value for those whose home or office has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and operates while you are at work or in school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you need to clean the mopping pad, it can be swapped for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into an elegant, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. best inexpensive robot vacuum has an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time to offer more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and customize zones through the well-designed app. It has a battery lifespan that is comparable to other models.
You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a room with carpet to prevent cross-contamination. It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and it supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. IRobot Roomba X40
The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the rivals. It's one of our most appealing looking robot vacuums. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations thanks to a blend of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
Like other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work or in the evening as you try to sleep.

iRobot L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features to help you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to map out the floor plan and detect obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its top rivals. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time but this wasn't completely foolproof in our tests, and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.
The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be.
If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you instruct the robot on which part of your house needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. If you have furniture, a stair mode is also useful. Finally, a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It is a good vacuum cleaner and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self emptying base that is washable.
The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate the mapping process which collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to create the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app also provides access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It can also reach corners and under furniture better because its shape is more rectangular. It is equipped with an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. And you can set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.
